About RT

RoastedToast is the current rendition of a website/blog launched by myself (nikolae) in February of 2004. It is powered by WordPress (because WordPress is awesome!) but is hosted externally in Fort Knox for a variety of reasons. My posts are usually satirical in nature and have a strong connection with actual events (be it experiences or random conversations throughout my day) in my life. I generally don’t post blatantly personal material here with specific details (e.g., Today I went fishing in the Black Sea with Jaun Pablo! It was awesome; I caught a lizardfish!), although that rule is occasionally broken. Generally, I use my Twitter account for that. Note: This rule may be changed at any time without notification.

Weekly ‘comic’ publishing started in October of 2010 as another venue for spinning my personal experiences into something humorous (and by weekly comic publishing I mean whenever I get around to it). It is sometimes easier to draw a ‘comic’ to get humor out of a situation than it is to write words. It is also sometimes much more difficult. That being said, October is national “RoastedToast is the Most Awesome Blog Ever!” (RTMABE) month to commemorate this historic event. Unfortunately, this holiday is only recognized in the microstate of Liechtenstein. And now back to third person:

RoastedToast is currently written and published by nikolae, electrical engineer and µE fanatic, with additional articles written by corey, electrical engineer, and davidk, software and programming god.

The comics are written, drawn and published by nikolae on 2″ x 3″ Sparco adhesive notes using a .7mm Pentel mechanical pencil. My Ctrl-Z is a Staedtler eraser. Comics are colored using varying shades of lead-based paint with a brush made of platypus fur.
